Preventing early school leaving of children coming from extremely poor families by helping the latter to pay education-related costs and increasing the community’s awareness on the importance of education.
Education is the road that children follow to reach their full potential in life. Yet many children in need around the world do not get a quality education where they can learn and develop. To advance learning, L’Albero della Vita supports education programs for children in the classroom and at home.
L’Albero della Vita Foundation runs study centers for underpriviled children primarily from slum communities. Our Special Care Center provides basic education as well as vocational skills for children with special needs.
The project was developed within the Child Sponsorship Programme. As far as its educational component is concerned, the project aims at preventing early school leaving of children coming from extremely poor families by helping the latter to pay education-related costs (enrolment fees, uniforms, books, educational material) and increasing the community’s awareness of the importance of education. The project also helps children in their studies from pre-school age by creating a kindergarten service for 60 children aged between 2 and 6; Older children instead receive after-school lessons and support to prepare for their exams.
Health-related component of the project
Health, food support and prevention of communicable diseases for disadvantaged children of the Karbi Anglong district, Assam. The project was developed within the Child Sponsorship Programme. As far as its health related component is concerned, the project aims at maintaining adequate nutritional and health conditions to favour their regular growth and help them in their studies.
